Maricel Urkom completed her 10th Competent Communication project to achieve her Competent Communicator award in the club meeting on August 27, 2013 at the SME Education Capital Campus in Cebu City.
Maricel, an English teacher at a public school in Cebu City, achieved this award less than 8 months after she joined the club.
Maricel is the first Competent Communicator of the Cebu South Toastmasters Club in Toastmasters Year 2013-2014.

The Cebu South Toastmasters Club added 5 members in June to complete the membership requisite of the 2012-2013 Distinguished Club Program (DCP), and finally earn the President’s Distinguished Club award with 9 of 10 DCP goals achieved.
The five were new members Jennifer Maasin and Bonifacio Tadeo Jr., reinstated members Reynaldo Estomata and Geric Laude, and dual member Grace Paras, the District Governor.
Incidentally, with the addition of 5 members in June, the Club also achieved the “Beat The Clock” award, sweeping all membership awards of Toastmasters International for the second straight year.
