The Cebu South Toastmasters Club ended the month of September in Toastmasters Year 2013-2014 with 2 DCP goals achieved.
The first goal was scored when the club added at least 4 new members (actual number is 5). The second goal was completed when the club submitted the minimum number of renewals at the end of September and submitted the club officers list last May.

Marites, Maria teresa, Tisay, Terya?
There’s a song title, A Horse with No Name, I have many different names which evolves as I travel this life and which represents the many faces of me.Let’s begin with Marites. Why Marites when my real name, the one found in my Birth Certificate is Maria Teresa? Well, when I was in pre-school, where we began to write our names, imagine the agonizing times when I have to write my full name Maria Teresa M.Plaza. My whole first line of pad paper will not be enough. So my mother ask my teacher to consider my writing only Marites. Thankfully, my teacher and subsequently my school allowed me so. And so I was known to my grade school classmates and friends in Butuan as Marites. Continue reading
Five new members were added to the Cebu South Toastmasters Club from August to September 2013, earning for the club its 3rd consecutive Smedley Award.
They are Jose Wilson Geolin, Jr., Aidhen Dayon, Maria Teresa Ybanez, Lucelle Mae Camus and Gianne Resen Antonio.

The Cebu South Toastmasters Club and the Omega Toastmasters Club jointly installed their officers for Toastmasters Year 2013-2014 at Baseline Restaurant in Cebu City.
The event was attended by members of the two clubs and friends from other Toastmasters clubs.
Division C Governor Wivina Pumatong, DTM, of Cebu Harbor Toastmasters Club was the inducting officer.
Immediate Past District 75 Governor Grace Paras, DTM, was the inspirational speaker.
The two clubs have created and continued to main strong ties despite the realignment of the Omega Toastmasters Club to Area 22.
The officers of the Cebu South Toastmasters Club for Toastmasters Year 2013-2014 are: Ma. Cecilia Yap – President; Charlotte Turtor – VP Education; Maricel Urkom – VP Membership; Rodel Revilla – VP Public Relations; Faye Karen Mutia – Secretary; Iven Yap – Treasurer; Jorjames Sajulla – Sergeant-at-Arms.
